Viking is a 2016 historical action film directed by Andrey Kravchuk and written by Andrey Kravchuk, Dmitry Paltsev, and Nikolai Kulikov. It stars Danila Kozlovskiy as the lead character, Prince Vladimir of Novgorod, Svetlana Khodchenkova as Rogneda, his love interest, and Maksim Sukhanov as Vyshata, his enemy. The movie is set in the year 988, during the reign of Kievan Rus. Prince Vladimir, the ruler of Novgorod, is a young and ambitious warrior who dreams of uniting the Russian lands under his rule. His plans, however, are thwarted by his own brother, Princess Yaropolk, who is jealous of his power.

Vladimir is forced to flee from Novgorod and begins his quest for power in the neighboring countries. He travels to Scandinavia, where he meets and falls in love with Rogneda, the daughter of a local king. However, their love is short-lived, as Vladimir is summoned back to Novgorod by his dying father to assume the throne.

With his father's death, Vladimir becomes the Grand Prince of Kievan Rus and begins his reign with a series of strategic battles against his enemies. The most significant of these battles is against Vyshata, the leader of the neighboring tribe, who is also seeking to establish a unified Russia under his rule.

The battle between Vladimir and Vyshata is epic and brutal, with both sides suffering heavy losses. But ultimately, Vladimir emerges as the victor, and the Russian lands are united under his leadership.

Throughout the movie, we see Vladimir's transformation from a young and naive warrior to a wise and powerful leader. We also see his relationships with Rogneda and his brother Yaropolk evolve and change as he becomes more entrenched in his quest for power.

Viking is an action-packed movie with stunning battle scenes and beautiful landscapes. The acting is superb, with Danila Kozlovskiy giving an outstanding performance as Prince Vladimir. Svetlana Khodchenkova and Maksim Sukhanov both deliver excellent supporting roles that round out the movie nicely.

Overall, Viking is an excellent historical action film that will keep viewers engaged and interested from start to finish. It tells a story of power, love, and redemption that has relevance even in modern times.

Viking is a 2016 action movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 18 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.6.
