Vipers is a horror film that was written by Brian Schultz, directed by Jeff Schultz and features Tara Reid and Corbin Bernsen. The story follows a scientific company that has a number of projects focused upon finding a cancer cure. Some of their experiments involve distilling venom from deadly vipers. However, CEO Burton, (played by Corbin Bernsen) accepts government funds to experiment with the latest biological weaponry. The scientists have all along been genetically manipulating the vipers to get as much as they can out of their efforts. Cal Taylor (played by Johnathan Scarfe) arrives to Eden Island intending to take over a medical practice. He gets involved with a florist named Nicky Swift (played by Tara Reid). Meanwhile, the enhanced vipers are creating venom that is at least four times as deadly as before. However, they also pose a much bigger threat to humanity, since they have become more powerful and intelligent. They are kept in glass aquariums rather than safely stored in in a genetics lab. Secret governmental scientists arrive to steal the vipers, however, they are not successful and instead let them loose on the small tourist island. Once there, they begin to wreak havoc by killing and then eating people. Residents like Nicky Swift are forced to try to devise a clever scheme to escape from the mutant and out of control snakes before they multiply and pose more of a threat to the entire world. In the midst of it all, an ex-Marine doctor (played by Don Davis) informs one of the other doctors about his son passing away. He was also a war hero and the ex-boyfriend of Nicky Swift. Finally, the group figures out how to use fire extinguishers to wipe out the vipers by slowly driving trucks into a crowded greenhouse. Because it will explode eventually, time is of the essence and the team must act immediately.
