Whore is a 2008 drama film directed by Thomas Dekker, who also stars in the film alongside Rumer Willis and Ron Jeremy. The movie follows the life of a teenage runaway named Lena, played by Lauren Montgomery, who works as a prostitute to support herself. Lena struggles with addiction, abuse, and her own inner demons while trying to survive on the streets of Los Angeles.

The film begins with Lena being picked up by a john on a deserted street corner. As the movie progresses, we see Lena’s nightmarish existence unfold. Lena's life is full of physical and emotional abuse, drug addiction, and endless nights of prostitution on the streets of Los Angeles. Throughout the movie, Lena forms close relationships with several other prostitutes, most notably a transgender woman named Liz, played by Rumer Willis.

As Lena and Liz navigate the harsh realities of their profession, they find themselves being preyed upon by a sadistic pimp named Kevin, played by Thomas Dekker. Kevin, who is the head of a prostitution ring, is a violent and manipulative character who will do whatever it takes to maintain control over his "girls". Kevin regularly beats and humiliates Lena, while also forcing her to bring in more money.

One of the most interesting aspects of Whore is how it portrays the relationships between the prostitutes. While they often compete with each other for clients, they also help each other out in times of need. Liz, in particular, is a lifeline for Lena. She helps her find drugs when she’s in withdrawal, and she even teaches Lena how to defend herself against Kevin's violence.

Another standout character in the movie is the aging porn star, Ron Jeremy, who plays a character named Gorman. Gorman is a kind-hearted man who genuinely cares about the well-being of the girls. He often offers them food and shelter, and tries to help them get out of the prostitution ring. While his character is minor, he provides an important contrast to the abusive Kevin.

One thing that sets Whore apart from other films about prostitution is how it deals with the psychological effects of sex work. Lena is haunted by memories of her past, and she struggles to maintain any kind of normalcy in her life. She frequently talks to herself and has vivid hallucinations. The movie does not shy away from the gritty details of sex work, which adds to its realism.

Overall, Whore is a brutal and unflinching portrayal of the dark side of prostitution. While the movie is not for the faint of heart, it provides a stark reminder of the harsh realities that many young runaways face. The performances by the cast, particularly Montgomery, Willis, and Dekker, are top-notch, and the directing by Dekker is impressive. While the movie’s subject matter is difficult to watch, it is a powerful and thought-provoking film.
