Best known for his use of rotoscope animation in Lord of The Rings and American Pop, director Ralph Bakshi's first use of this technique was in the animated feature, Wizards. With a nod to underground comic creators such as Wendy Pini, Wizards concerns a battle over the fate of the world between two brothers: one who uses magic and the other, who relies on technology. Bakshi also includes a subtext in the powerful use of propaganda film images by Leni Riefestahl, who was an ally of Adolf Hitler's Nazi propaganda machine. An underrated and often overlooked animation milestone classic film.
