Maria Alejandra falls into a trap set by Maximiliano, and is forced to confess that she is not a millionaire and is really just a poor delivery girl. This confession leads to Maria Alejandra being fired from the company, losing all her belongings, and having no money or place to stay in Miami. As she wanders the streets with nowhere to go, she comes across a kind woman named Ximena who offers to take her in.

At the same time, Eduardo has discovered that Octavio was the one who set the fire in his factory and caused his father to die. Octavio tries to deny it, but Eduardo has evidence and threatens to turn him in to the police. Octavio agrees to help Eduardo take down Guillermo Espinoza, the corrupt businessman who has been causing so much trouble. However, they both know that this will be a dangerous mission and they will need all the help they can get.

Meanwhile, Max and Constanza's relationship continues to deteriorate. Constanza is tired of Max's controlling behavior and his obsession with Maria Alejandra. She decides to go on a trip to clear her head, but while she's away, Max hires a detective to follow her. When Constanza finds out about this, she realizes that she can no longer be with Max and decides to end their relationship.

As all these events are unfolding, Maria Alejandra is struggling to adapt to her new life. She is grateful to Ximena for taking her in, but she misses her old life and the people she left behind. However, when she learns about Eduardo's plan to take down Guillermo Espinoza, she knows that she has to help.
