Alistair works to stabilise his patient Paul's multiple injuries and comfort the patient who is screaming in pain, whilst he waits for an ambulance crew to back him up. Once the crew arrive, they help to transport Paul from the ground to the ambulance. As they travel to the closest major trauma centre, Alistair gets to know Paul, discovering that he is a recovering addict.

Helping to care for the 5 million people of the Yorkshire region today are crewmates Sam and Sophie. They've had a challenging start to the shift as their first job has required them to trek on foot through a forest in Bingley while trying to locate a teenage patient suffering a seizure.

Among them, Halifax crew Kanada and Chris help a farmer who has crashed into a dry-stone wall while on his way to feed his animals. Yorkshire Ambulance Service have already answered 300 calls for help, when a new emergency comes in from police. They've received reports of a man in Harehills, Leeds threatening to harm himself & the police officers attending. Due to potential level of threat, multiple resources are dispatched including the hazardous area response team.

Tracey and Lauren are crewing one of five ambulances covering the coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby over a busy bank holiday weekend. Holidaymakers and residents are out in force visiting the popular seaside hotspots along Yorkshire's east coast, in order to mark the end of winter.

A run of complex and challenging incidents creates a tense night shift for Yorkshire's Ambulance Service. A major road closure outside the city centre means a category one patient is left waiting for help for over an hour. Meanwhile, frontline crew, Sarah and Louise have no choice but to call for emergency police back-up as a patient suffering a seizure becomes physically abusive.
