Ep 1. Bitchcraft

The show American Horror Story season 3 episode 1, titled Bitchcraft, follows the story of a group of witches living in New Orleans. The episode begins with a flashback to the year 1834, when Madame Delphine LaLaurie, a wealthy socialite, tortures and brutally murders her slaves in her mansion. She is eventually discovered and forced to flee the city.

In present day New Orleans, a young witch named Zoe Benson (played by Taissa Farmiga) is sent to Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, a school for young witches. Her arrival coincides with the discovery of a group of witches who practice dark magic, known as the "Salem witches," who are targeting young witches in the area.

Zoe soon learns that she possesses a unique power that causes men to die upon having sex with her. She struggles to control her power and fears that she may be a danger to others. Meanwhile, the headmistress of the academy, Cordelia Foxx (played by Sarah Paulson), is struggling to keep the school afloat as they are facing financial difficulties and the threat of the Salem witches.

The episode also introduces a number of other key characters, including Fiona Goode (played by Jessica Lange), a powerful and manipulative witch who was once a student at the academy, and Queenie (played by Gabourey Sidibe), a young witch who possesses the power of pain transference.

As the episode progresses, tensions between the witches and the Salem witches continue to escalate. The Salem witches are revealed to be led by a powerful and mysterious figure known only as "The Axeman," who has a personal vendetta against the young witches of New Orleans.

Bitchcraft sets the stage for an exciting and suspenseful season, with complex characters, intricate storylines, and plenty of supernatural horror. The episode seamlessly blends elements of history, fantasy, and horror to create a chilling and captivating viewing experience.
