Ep 2. Episode 2

A criminal thriller produced by the Swedish network SVT, Before We Die tracks the complicated, high-stakes world of an organized crime task force in Gothenburg. The series follows detective Hanna Svensson, played by Marie Richardson, as she navigates her divided loyalties between her job policing the organized crime in Sweden and her family ties to a criminal network.

Episode 2 opens with Svensson's partner Bjorn (Magnus Krepper) discovering that the person who leaked information on their previous raid is a new member of their team, Davor Mimica (Hugo Skarsgård). Both Bjorn and Svensson are wary of their new colleague, though of course they can't tell him they know.

Meanwhile, Christian Svensson, Hanna's son, is on the run after getting beaten up in a prison yard, and seeks the help of his estranged father Lasse (Stefan Sauk), who is now a businessman and has broken all ties with the criminal world. Lasse advises Christian to lay low and not to involve his mother in the situation.

At the same time, Mimica's sister Lana is also in trouble, after getting into a fight with a customer at her job as a waitress. She seeks help from Mimica, who shows up and unleashes his vicious temper, leaving the customer hospitalized. This gives Bjorn and Hanna more doubt about how reliable of a team member Mimica is.

Hanna's superior and former lover Erik (Adam Palsson) visits her at home, revealing that he has a new girlfriend and acknowledging that they have unresolved feelings for each other. Hanna tries to resist temptation, but finds herself giving in to Erik's advances.

As tensions rise between the criminal factions in Gothenburg, Hanna and Bjorn pursue a new lead in their investigation. They hope to use Mimica to get closer to their target, but as they prepare for the upcoming raid, they are forced to make a difficult decision regarding his place in the team.

Before We Die is a gritty and complex crime drama that explores the blurred lines between family and duty, and the consequences that come with both. Episode 2 is a tense, thrilling chapter in the series that sets up major developments to come.
