The Savage Murder of a Mother and her Daughter (Amato Case)- On March 31, 2003, firefighters were called to a fire in a housing estate of Meyrargues, near Aix-en-Provence. On site, they discovered a horrific scene: the tortured and charred bodies of a mother and her daughter, Chantal and Audrey D'Amato, aged 53 and 24 respectively.
