Dishmantled is a food competition show on Quibi, where contestants are blindfolded and blasted with a cannon full of food. After getting splattered with the dish they need to identify, they have to recreate the dish from scratch.

In season 1 episode 1 titled "Holy Schitt!", host Tituss Burgess introduces the audience to the bizarre and exciting world of Dishmantled. The episode starts with a close-up of Burgess sitting on a couch, holding a can of seltzer and wearing a pair of goggles. He explains the show, and then we see two contestants, Elise and Brandon, standing behind a wall and wearing flight helmets. Tituss jokes around with them a bit before blasting them with a cannon full of a mystery dish.

The audience can only see the dish as it explodes onto Elise and Brandon, and we hear them laugh and shout as they try to identify what food they have been hit with. After a few moments, Elise correctly identifies the dish as a Philly cheesesteak, and Brandon quickly follows suit. They are then allowed to take off their blindfolds and assess the damage.

Tituss introduces the judges, esteemed pastry chef Zac Young and comedian Yvonne Orji. They're standing in front of two identical sets of kitchen equipment, and Tituss asks the contestants to choose which set they would like to use to make their creations. Elise and Brandon pick their stations, and Tituss reminds them of the competition's rules. They have to recreate the dish that hit them, down to the last detail, and the judges will decide who stays and who goes home.

The clock starts, and the contestants scramble to gather the ingredients they need. Elise is confident and starts cooking immediately, while Brandon struggles a bit more. We hear his internal monologue as he tries to keep track of all the different components of the dish, like the meat, the onion, and the cheese.

As the contestants work, Tituss and the judges banter and joke around. They're excited to see what the cooks will come up with, and they muse about what a Philly cheesesteak would taste like after it's been blasted out of a cannon. They speculate that it might be a bit more aerodynamic than a regular cooked steak.

The final seconds tick down, and the contestants rush to finish their creations. They present their plates to the judges, and we get some tight shots of the food. Everything looks delicious, but there are some differences between the two dishes.

Zac and Yvonne take a taste of each plate and start critiquing. They're both impressed with the flavors, but they start nitpicking some of the technical aspects of the dishes. For example, one cheesesteak might have too much cheese, or the other might have slightly overcooked onions.

The tension builds as the judges confer and come to their final decision. They compliment both dishes, but ultimately, one contestant has to go home. Tituss announces the winner, and the loser takes off their headset and walks offstage. Before the episode ends, we see some bloopers and outtakes from the shoot, showcasing the messy and chaotic nature of the show.

"Holy Schitt!" is a rollicking and entertaining first episode, showcasing the strengths of Dishmantled. The concept is unusual, the contestants are funny and relatable, and the judges are knowledgeable and fun to watch. Despite some blurry shots and the occasional off-color joke, this episode demonstrates that Dishmantled is a lively and engaging food competition show that fans of the genre will enjoy.
