For the first challenge, they create small bites that need to pack a big punch for a cocktail party with some very special guests. In the final challenge, each family must race and cook across three kitchens at the same time in order to make dishes using ingredients inspired by each of the judge's upbringings.

We're down to the final three families and the competition just keeps getting tougher. In their first challenge, the home cooks face off in a Recipe Relay. But switching between family members, while attempting to present two cohesive dishes, isn't the only challenge between them and the finale. The judges decide to shake things up for the final four families. They split the families up into different kitchens and have them work with their competitors to make dishes using the leftovers they find in their fridges. Some teams come together like family while others fall apart as they struggle to work with one another.

4. Road to The Final Four

The remaining five families are tested in one of the most difficult and important culinary skills - Communication! With recipes on their head, these home cooks rely solely on their family members instruction to create perfectly plated and delicious dishes. Plus, the three families sent to elimination are caught by surprise with a challenge they could have never seen coming.

3. The Top Six Families Compete

The top six families finally get to receive their kitchens, team colors and official aprons. Their first challenge is to make a 'Surf 'n Turf' dish, going head to head with another family of their choosing. An intense cook-off filled with hits and misses results with three safe families and three families that go on to compete in the dreaded Elimination Challenge.
