Hazbin Hotel is an adult animated comedy series created by Vivienne Medrano. The series is set in Hell and follows the Princess of Hell, Charlie, as she attempts to rehabilitate demons and reduce overpopulation in Hell by opening the Happy Hotel. The series begins with Charlie announcing plans to open the Happy Hotel to an unenthusiastic crowd. Along with her girlfriend Vaggie, Charlie hopes to find a test patient to prove rehabilitation is possible. The first patron is Angel Dust, a porn star spider demon who agrees to stay at the hotel. More patients begin to arrive including Alastor, an infamous deer demon known as 'The Radio Demon' who offers to help Charlie with her endeavor.

Charlie and the hotel staff including Vaggie and Angel Dust try to cure patients of their violent and sinful natures through therapy, song and dance numbers, and other rehabilitation techniques with various degrees of success. Alastor acts as an unsettling and powerful benefactor who uses the hotel as his own entertainment, selectively protecting it from outside threats.

Other notable characters include Charlie's parents Lucifer and Lilith, the rulers of Hell. Charlie faces disapproval from them as she tries to change the nature of Hell against her father's wishes. The Happy Hotel also attracts unwanted attention from many of Hell's overlords including Vox, Valentino, and Velvet who see Charlie as a disruption to their power.

With its 1930s art deco aesthetic mixed with contemporary humor and musical numbers, Hazbin Hotel stands out for its dark comedy and crass humor set in a creatively hellish world. The adult series explores themes of redemption, sexuality, addiction, and morality with irreverent comedy twists on religious concepts and archetypes.

Led by Charlie's relentless optimism, the staff of the Happy Hotel hilariously struggle to prove that even denizens of Hell can change for the better. Though often crude, the show's colorful cast of sinners and demons are more sympathetic than expected, making Hazbin Hotel an irreverent and entertaining redemption story against all odds.

With an enthusiastic cult following, Hazbin Hotel's first season garnered praise for its stylish animation, comic timing, and subversive sense of humor. The series continues to expand its hellish realm with humor, heart, and musical numbers galore.
