Kate and Ethan are invited to the wedding of their friend Max and his fiancée Felix. Despite the fact that Kate is currently sleeping with Max, she is determined to act as a supportive friend and make sure the wedding goes off without a hitch. However, things quickly go awry when Ethan's ex-girlfriend, Sam, shows up unexpectedly.
Sam's presence throws Ethan into a tailspin, causing him to second-guess his current relationship with Lisa. Meanwhile, Sam herself is struggling with her own feelings, unsure if she still has feelings for Ethan or if she just wants to stir up trouble. As tensions rise and feelings are laid bare, the wedding quickly becomes a hotbed of drama and conflict.
Adding even more fuel to the fire is the fact that Max's mother, played by Oscar-winning actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste, is extremely critical of Felix and does everything in her power to derail the wedding. Her antics include hiding the wedding rings, complaining about the food, and even staging a fake heart attack in an attempt to cancel the wedding altogether.
As the day wears on and tensions continue to rise, it becomes clear that things are going to come to a head sooner rather than later. Whether it's Ethan and Sam finally confronting their feelings, Max and Kate facing the reality of their affair, or Felix and Max's mother engaging in a battle of wills, there's no shortage of drama to be had in this explosive episode.
Despite all the chaos, however, there are also moments of genuine tenderness and connection between the characters. Whether it's Lisa and Ethan reconciling, Max and Felix exchanging vows, or Kate grappling with her feelings for Max, there are moments of raw emotion that cut through the tension and remind us why we care about these characters in the first place.
By the end of the episode, the dust has settled (at least for the moment) and the characters are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered relationships. As the credits roll, viewers are left wondering what the future holds for these complicated, messy, and ultimately lovable friends from college.
