Miles is in his apartment, struggling with a writer’s block. Ali pops in unexpectedly to tell him that Jamie, one of the servers at the food kitchen where she volunteers, has dropped out of sight. Ali is worried because Jamie’s daughter has a serious medical condition, and she needs her mother to help pay the bills. Miles doesn’t want to get involved in another God account, but he feels guilty about not doing something to help.

Rakesh is at work, trying to hack into a secret online group that Rosemary, the woman he believes is the creator of the God account, is part of. Rakesh promises to take care not to be detected, but he’s discovered quickly and confronted by Simon, Rosemary’s close associate. Simon tells Rakesh that he owes the group a debt, which Rakesh can repay by tracking down a hacker who’s been causing trouble for the group.

At the food kitchen, Cara is chatting with an elderly woman named Sophia. Sophia is a patron of the food kitchen, but she’s also a computer genius. She walks Cara through some technical issues and is able to fix Cara’s laptop in a matter of seconds. Sophia tells Cara that she’s been followed by Rosemary’s group because of how valuable her skills are.

Miles meets up with Jamie’s estranged husband, Dave. Dave tells Miles that Jamie has been gambling and has run up a massive debt. But Dave swears to Miles that Jamie would never abandon their daughter, and he also confesses that he still loves Jamie. Miles uncovers a connection between Jamie and a Chinese online gambling site.

Cara and Rakesh identify the hacker that Rakesh is seeking as Russell, a former programmer who was fired from a major tech company. They track him down to a bar where he’s working as a bartender. Russell tells them that he’s been unwittingly recruited by Rosemary’s group to hack into databases and change records. When he tries to quit, he’s told that he can’t leave the group, lest they expose his previous hacking misdeeds.

Miles confronts Jamie on the gambling site. Jamie initially denies that she has a gambling problem, but she eventually breaks down and admits that her addiction is out of her control. She tells Miles that she’s using a friend’s computer because her own was seized by the gambling site. Miles and Jamie hatch a plan to outmaneuver the gambling site by having Miles pose as Jamie and going on a winning streak. When the site catches on and threatens legal action, Miles and Jamie reveal their plan to the site owner, who agrees to forgive Jamie’s debts.

Meanwhile, Cara visits Sophia to ask for her help in tracking down the members of Rosemary’s group. Sophia advises Cara to be very careful, as the group will go to any lengths to protect its secrets. Cara takes Sophia’s advice to heart and tries to warn Rakesh, but it’s too late—Rakesh has already been lured to a meeting with the group.

The episode ends as Rosemary’s group confronts Rakesh and asks him to build a special algorithm for them. Rakesh is wary, but he senses that he might be able to use this opportunity to turn the tables and get closer to uncovering the identity of the God account.
