As soon as the chefs enter the kitchen, the situation heats up. Chef Ramsay announces that the blue team will have to work with no captain, and that the chefs will make a personal dish using ingredients that they will select themselves. Along with all this, Chef Ramsay tasks the chefs to use blackjack in order to determine the ingredients that they can use for their personal dishes.
Chef Ramsay takes things up a notch by inviting the returning chefs from the season to come and judge the dishes. As the stakes get higher and the competition gets tighter, the chefs start to scramble to make sure they impress the returning contestants as well as Chef Ramsay.
In a stunning turn of events, Chef Ramsay throws a wrench in the system and tells the chefs that they need to use an ingredient they may have lied about to the judge panel when creating their dish. This revelation causes major tension, as many of the contestants are forced to admit that they did in fact lie about using their selected ingredient.
As the chefs work tirelessly to perfect their dishes, the returning contestants assess and critique the contestants' dishes and provide their feedback to Chef Ramsay. Using this information, Chef Ramsay decides which contestants will move on to the next round of competition and reveals the winning dish.
The pressure and the heat are turned up higher in this episode, as we see the contestants playing with high stakes in a game of blackjack and using their best skills and techniques in order to impress both Chef Ramsay and the returning contestants.
