In this episode of Jamie's American Road Trip, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver continues his journey through the United States, exploring the culinary delights and unique cuisines of various regions.
Jamie starts his culinary journey in Arizona, a state renowned for its Southwestern-inspired dishes that blend Mexican and Native American influences. Jamie is joined by local chefs and food experts who help him explore the flavors of the region.
Jamie first visits Tucson, where he meets with chef Ryan Clark at the Casino Del Sol Resort. Ryan introduces Jamie to some of the local delicacies, including a traditional dish called the Sonoran Dog, which is a hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with beans, tomatoes, onions, and chili sauce. They visit Silvana's restaurant, Barrio Cafe, and try some of the specialty dishes, such as the chiles en nogada, which are roasted poblano peppers filled with ground beef, fruits, and spices, and then topped with a creamy walnut sauce.
Finally, Jamie travels to Scottsdale, where he meets with chef Charleen Badman at FnB restaurant. Charleen is known for her farm-to-table cuisine and uses locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. She prepares a meal of roasted carrots with harissa, feta cheese, and mint, followed by a dish of roasted chicken with braised greens and lemony yogurt.
