Meanwhile, Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen develop feelings for each other and start a romantic relationship. Their love story is soon challenged by a series of obstacles, including the disapproval of Xu Xian's mother and Fa Hai's growing suspicion of Bai Suzhen's true identity.
