Ep 1. I First Met Her in a Dream or Something.

Madoka Magica follows the story of Madoka Kaname, a middle school student who lives a normal life with her parents and younger brother. Madoka has dreams of a beautiful girl battling monsters, but she dismisses them as just dreams.

One day, Madoka and her best friend Sayaka Miki encounter a small creature named Kyubey who offers to grant their heart's desire in exchange for becoming a magical girl and fighting witches. Kyubey tells them that they possess the potential to become the most powerful magical girls and that it is their destiny to fight witches and protect the city.

Despite the temptation of having their wishes granted, Madoka and Sayaka are hesitant to agree, and they are soon introduced to two magical girls by the names of Mami Tomoe and Homura Akemi. Mami takes the girls under her wing, showing them how to use their magic and explaining the responsibility that comes with being a magical girl.

As Madoka contemplates whether or not to become a magical girl, she learns about the dark and dangerous world of witches and their devastating effects on the people around them. She also begins to question whether her desire to become a magical girl is worth the price she may have to pay.

The episode ends with Madoka struggling with her decision as she tries to come to terms with the harsh reality of the magical girl world and the consequences of her choices. Will Madoka choose to become a magical girl and fight witches alongside her friends or will she choose to live a normal life?
