Maggie and Bianca: Fashion Friends is an Italian teen musical drama series that follows the lives of two girls from different backgrounds - Maggie, an American girl with a passion for music, and Bianca, an Italian girl with a love for fashion. In the second episode of the first season, titled "Places to Call My Own", the girls find themselves struggling to adapt to their new environment.
After settling into their dormitory at the Milan Fashion Academy, Maggie and Bianca start to feel homesick. Maggie misses her family and friends back in America while Bianca longs for the comfort of her familiar surroundings in Italy. To overcome their homesickness, the girls decide to explore the city and find new places that they can call their own.
Their first stop is a café where they order espresso and croissants. While sitting outside, they see an abandoned building across the street that has a "for rent" sign. Maggie suggests that they should rent the place and turn it into a music studio where she can record her songs. Bianca, who has a keen eye for fashion, thinks they could transform it into a pop-up store where they can display and sell their designs. However, when they approach the landlord, they find out that the rent is too expensive for them to afford on their own.
Feeling disappointed, the girls decide to explore other parts of the city. They come across a park where they see a group of teenagers hanging out and performing music. Maggie joins in with her guitar and starts playing along, while Bianca observes their fashion styles. One of the boys, a street performer named Yuki, recognizes Maggie's talent and invites her to his studio to record a song together. At the studio, Maggie and Yuki collaborate on a new song that reflects their shared love for music.
Meanwhile, Bianca finds inspiration for her fashion designs in a vintage store. She discovers a dress that belonged to a famous Italian singer in the 1960s and is fascinated by the intricate details and craftsmanship. She buys the dress and decides to use it as the centerpiece for her new collection. However, when she returns to the dormitory, she finds out that her roommate, Quinn, has accidentally spilled paint on it and ruined it.
Feeling frustrated, Bianca goes to the park to clear her head. There, she meets a group of street artists who offer to help her create a new dress using the paint stains as inspiration. Together, they turn the damaged dress into a unique, edgy design that captures Bianca's creative spirit.
At the end of the episode, Maggie and Bianca return to the café where they started their adventure. They reflect on their experiences and realize that they don't need to rent a place to feel at home. They have each other, their passions, and the city of Milan to explore and discover. As they sip their espresso and smile at each other, the two girls know that they have found a place to call their own.
