It is the third episode of the season of Norsemen and is titled "The Funeral". The episode starts with the opening scene of a hitman who completes his job and comes to get his reward from Rufus. Across town, Arvid is shown drinking and vomiting with his friends; they are basically drunk and having a good time.
Soon, a messenger arrives in Norheim to inform the town that the leader of another tribe has passed away. This puts the residents of Norheim in an awkward situation, as they are unsure whether to attend the funeral ceremony. The residents, therefore, have to make a decision to either show respect or prepare for a potential attack from the late leader's tribe.
Meanwhile, Kark, the town's most experienced warrior, sees this as an opportunity to demonstrate his bravery, even if it costs his life. He sets off to attend the funeral, with Arvid and Orm tagging along as well. While on their journey, they meet Hildur, who knows a lot about the tribe and is looking to attend the funeral too. Kark, however, is uncertain about the credibility of this woman and their true intentions.
At the funeral, they find out that the deceased leader was killed by Rufus and his men while he was sleeping. The incident leaves the Norheim warriors terrified, as they realize that Rufus could attack them at any time. They, therefore, decide to organize their own funeral in their town in an attempt to deceive Rufus.
Back in Norheim, Odin and his band are up to no good. They steal various items from around the town, including livestock. Frida becomes suspicious of Odin and his group and decides to investigate.
The episode comes to an end with Rufus and his men coming to Norheim, hoping to get their reward for killing the late tribe's leader. However, they find that everyone is attending a funeral and decide to wait in the town. In the meantime, Orm and Kark bury the coffin of a goat, hoping to deceive Rufus and his men.
