- February 21, 2020
In Norsemen season 3 episode 2, titled "Bachelor Party," the plot centers around the upcoming marriage of Orm and Frøya. As the wedding date looms, the men of the village decide to throw Orm a bachelor party to celebrate his upcoming nuptials.
The first half of the episode focuses on the preparations for the party. Orm's friends, Rufus, Arvid, and Kark, struggle to come up with suitable ideas for the party, as they are determined to make it the most memorable night of Orm's life. They consider hiring a band, purchasing exotic foods, and even bringing in some slave dancers, but ultimately decide on a night of heavy drinking and merriment.
As the night begins, Orm and his friends gather around a large fire for some drinks and toasts. Stories are told, songs are sung, and jokes are told, as they celebrate the coming marriage. However, as the night wears on, things begin to get out of hand. The drinking becomes more and more excessive, and soon the men are causing chaos throughout the village.
Meanwhile, the women of the village are preparing for Frøya's bachelorette party. However, they struggle to find the same level of excitement and enthusiasm that the men are experiencing. They try to make the party as fun as possible, but Frøya can't help but feel disappointed by the lackluster celebration.
As the night continues, the drunken men cause more and more havoc, stumbling into people's homes, destroying property, and even getting into a fight with some neighboring villagers. Orm and his friends continue to drink, unaware of the destruction they are causing.
The bachelorette party is not without its own drama, as Frøya begins to have doubts about her upcoming marriage. She confides in her friend, Hildur, about her fears and struggles to come to terms with the idea of never being able to explore the world outside of their village.
The episode ends with Orm and his friends passed out in the village square, surrounded by the destruction they caused. Meanwhile, Frøya is outside, staring up at the stars and pondering her future.
Overall, "Bachelor Party" is a hilarious and chaotic episode that perfectly captures the spirit of the show. The contrast between the wild antics of the men's party and the more subdued bachelorette party highlights the different worldviews that exist in this village. It also sets up some interesting storylines for the rest of the season, as Frøya's doubts about her marriage and Orm's recklessness begin to have consequences for the entire village.
