The Trouble With Nothing is the first episode of the first season of Numberjacks, a British children's television series. The show follows a group of animated numbers whose mission is to solve mathematical problems and prevent disasters.
In this episode, the Numberjacks notice that something is wrong with the world. They can't quite put their finger on it, but they know that something is amiss. They don't have to wait long to find out what it is, as soon enough they are alerted to a problem.
The Numberjacks' mission control receives a call from a little girl who has lost her toy dog, and when she went to look for it, she couldn't find anything at all. This confuses the Numberjacks, as they know that nothing is not a thing - it's just a concept. However, they soon discover that something strange is going on.
As the Numberjacks investigate, they come across a man who is vacuuming up everything in his house, including his dog and his children! The Numberjacks quickly realize that the man is being controlled by a mischievous character named the Numbertaker. According to the Numberjacks, the Numbertaker is a "nasty number creature who loves to take things away."
The Numbertaker is trying to make everything disappear, including the Numberjacks themselves. The Numberjacks know that they need to stop him before it's too late.
To solve the problem, the Numberjacks use their special powers of math and deduction to try and unravel the mystery of the Numbertaker and his magic. They soon realize that the Numbertaker can only make things disappear one at a time and that he is vulnerable to a special number combination that the Numberjacks have to work out.
The Numberjacks then put their plan into action, and with their teamwork and quick thinking, they defeat the Numbertaker and restore everything back to normal. The little girl gets her toy dog back, and the man and his family are reunited.
The episode ends with the Numberjacks receiving a congratulatory message from their headquarters for another successful mission. The Numberjacks then wish the viewers "happy counting" and leave the screen as the credits start to roll.
Overall, The Trouble With Nothing is an excellent introduction to the Numberjacks series. It contains an entertaining and educational storyline that will keep young viewers engaged while also teaching them about math concepts. It also showcases the Numberjacks' teamwork and problem-solving skills, which are essential traits for young children to learn.
