They soon discover that the problem with six is being caused by a mischievous Numberjack called Spooky Spoon. Spooky Spoon is a troublemaker who likes to play pranks on people by changing the numbers around. In this case, she is switching the sixes with nines and causing all sorts of chaos.
The Numberjacks realize that the only way to stop Spooky Spoon is to trick her. They come up with a plan to create a cake with nine cherries on it and trick Spooky Spoon into thinking it's a cake with six cherries on it. They set their plan into motion and wait for Spooky Spoon to arrive.
When Spooky Spoon arrives, she is delighted to see the cake with six cherries on it. She jumps up and down in excitement, but as soon as she takes a bite, she realizes that something is wrong.
