Our Cartoon President follows the life of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, through the lens of a satirical animated show. The show highlights the absurdity and humor of modern-day politics and the White House.

In season 1 episode 7, titled "Wealth Gap," the show explores the very real issue of income inequality and how it affects the Trump administration. At the start of the episode, President Trump is shown to be obsessed with his approval rating and is struggling to understand why it is so low. His advisers suggest that he focus on policies that will benefit the middle class in order to improve his image.

Meanwhile, the economy is booming, but only for the top 1%. The rest of the country is struggling to make ends meet. To combat this, Vice President Mike Pence suggests a tax plan that will primarily benefit the wealthy. Trump agrees, seeing it as his chance to win over the elusive millionaire demographic.

However, the plan is met with fierce opposition from the Democrats, who accuse the administration of only caring about the rich. Trump's son, Eric Trump, is brought in to defend the plan, but his lack of knowledge and inability to stay on message only make things worse. Eric is quickly replaced by Ivanka Trump, who is much more polished and articulate. She is able to sell the plan to the public, but at a cost - she becomes the face of the administration's wealth gap policy.

Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump is struggling with her own image problem - the public perceives her as cold and distant. She tries to improve her image by holding a charity event for children, but it is quickly overshadowed by her husband's tax plan.

Throughout the episode, there are various subplots that showcase the personalities and quirks of the various characters in the White House. Jared Kushner tries to win over the Jewish vote by having a Passover Seder, but it goes terribly wrong. Steve Bannon is shown to be living in a run-down apartment and getting drunk with his alt-right friends. Sarah Huckabee Sanders struggles to defend the administration's policies, but she soldiers on anyway.

In the end, the tax plan is passed and the President's approval rating goes up slightly. However, the wealth gap continues to widen and the administration is blamed for it. The episode ends with a montage of news clips and protests, reminding the audience of the real-life consequences of income inequality.

Overall, "Wealth Gap" is a funny and insightful episode that takes on a serious issue in a lighthearted way. It is a reminder that even in a cartoon world, politics can have real-life consequences.
