Ep 1. Reparations

In the season 2 premiere episode of Ozark titled "Reparations," we find the Byrde family dealing with the aftermath of their dealings with the drug cartel. Marty Byrde is trying to appease the cartel while keeping his family safe and running their money laundering business.

The episode opens with a flashback to a year ago when the Byrde family was settling into their new life in the Ozarks. We see Marty and Wendy talking about their future and how they are going to make it work after Marty's involvement with the cartel.

Fast forward to the present day, and we see that Marty is struggling to maintain control over the cartel. He is trying to convince Navarro, the head of the cartel, to allow him and his family to leave the Ozarks and start over somewhere else. Navarro is hesitant to let them go, as he feels that they owe him reparations for the damage they caused to his business.

Meanwhile, Wendy is taking a new approach to the situation. She is using her political connections to try and gain leverage over the cartel. She has aligned herself with a senator who is willing to help her in exchange for her support on certain issues.

The tension in the Byrde household is heightened when Ruth Langmore, the young woman who works for the family, is released from jail. She is angry with Marty for not helping her while she was in jail and is now working for her uncle's rival cartel. Marty is worried about what Ruth might do to him and his family, as she knows too much about their business.

In another storyline, we see Charlotte, the Byrde's daughter, struggling with her own issues. She is rebelling against her parents and is getting into trouble at school. She meets a boy named Wyatt who is also dealing with his own problems. The two bond over their shared issues and develop a close relationship.

As the episode comes to a close, tensions come to a head between the Byrde family and the rival cartel. We are left on a cliffhanger, wondering what will happen next and how the Byrde family will keep themselves safe from harm.

Overall, "Reparations" sets up the rest of the season nicely. We see that Marty and Wendy are taking different approaches to their situation, and the tension within the family is palpable. The addition of the Ruth Langmore storyline adds an extra layer of danger and complexity to the plot. This episode sets the stage for what promises to be an intense and thrilling second season.
