Together, they rescue Grace, but on their way back to Birmingham, they get ambushed by Campbell's men. Tommy is shot, and the group has to take refuge in a nearby campsite.

While Tommy is recovering, Polly and Grace work together to secure their betting business by buying up all the available horses. Campbell, however, tries to thwart their efforts by threatening the jockeys not to race for the Shelby family. Polly responds by burning his girlfriend's house down.

The episode culminates in a tense scene where Tommy and his men finally confront Campbell. The two men exchange words, and Campbell reveals that he has incriminating evidence against Grace. He demands Tommy's surrender in exchange for Grace's release.
