Ep 8. Wild Things

Maya and Anna are continuing to navigate the ups and downs of seventh grade life in episode eight of PEN15, titled "Wild Things."

The episode opens with Maya and Anna trying to figure out how to buy alcohol for a party they've been invited to. After unsuccessfully attempting to convince a high schooler to buy it for them, they come up with a plan to steal some from Anna's parents.

The party turns out to be a bit of a disaster as Maya and Anna struggle to fit in with the high school crowd, who are more interested in hooking up than talking to seventh graders. Maya finds herself alone in a room with a boy who attempts to make a move on her, while Anna gets into a heated argument with her crush.

As the night progresses, things only get more wild and out of hand. Maya ends up with a broken nose after getting hit by a stray elbow while dancing, and Anna finds herself in a compromising position with another party-goer.

Despite the chaos, Maya and Anna remain determined to make the most of the night and continue to try to fit in with the older crowd. As the party winds down and they make their way home, they come to the realization that perhaps they were not quite ready for the kind of wild partying that took place.

As always, PEN15 provides a humorous and relatable take on the sometimes awkward and confusing experience of growing up. This episode touches on the pressure to fit in and the lengths kids will go to be accepted, as well as the consequences that can come from trying to act older than one's age. Fans of the show will not want to miss "Wild Things" and the hilarious yet heartfelt journey it takes them on.
