Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 2 Chapter Two: The Spirit Queen

Aspiring filmmaker, Marin, is introduced as she leaves a shack in the woods. She soon arrives at the cafe where her mother works, who is warned by a local policeman about the disappearance of a young girl named Elodie. The mention of this name immediately catches Marin's attention. Later, Marin's mother admits to having known Elodie's mother, and hints about them previously owning a house in the town that may have something to do with Elodie's disappearance. Marin joins her friends to the town carnival, unknowing that someone is keeping an eye on them. Soon, Marin starts to experience strange happenings that lead her to a local psychic, whom they enlist to help them with the mystery of the Spirit Queen.

Chapter Two: The Spirit Queen opens up with her friends talking about their experiences at the carnival the previous night. Marin also speaks of odd occurrences that happened to her. One of her friends, Isaac, asks why they should even bother with this small-town mystery, but they all know the truth: they just can't leave it alone.

Marin decides to explore the old house and enlists the help of her friends to come with her. It turns out that the house is the former residence of Elodie's mother. Marin discovers an old photo of Elodie and is seen by a shadowy figure who quickly disappears. At school, Marin contemplates telling the police about the photo she found; however, her mother advises her not to get involved in the case, citing the danger that could come with it. After school, Isaac shares a series of texts that all point to the Spirit Queen being the one behind the various odd occurrences the group has experienced. Scared and unsure what to do, the group decides to seek help from a psychic.

Upon arriving at the psychic's house, variations of her abilities are explored. The psychic speaks of her long-harvested skills and talents for communing with spirits; however, her session doesn't necessarily help them clarify anything immediately. As their interaction with the psychic progresses, the group discovers that they possess a special connection with the Spirit Queen, as it's revealed that the Spirit Queen has latched onto them, making them her children of the light. The psychic talks of the Spirit Queen's power over them, but urges caution and stresses that she can only offer a warning and not much else.
