Ep 2. Sideswiped - Ep 2 Baby Steps

In Sideswiped season 1 episode 2, titled "Baby Steps," single mom Olivia (played by Carly Craig) goes on a date with a younger man, Spencer (played by Rhys Wakefield), who happens to be a dance instructor. Meanwhile, her sister Jayne (played by Chelsea Frei) tries to convince their mom (played by Rosanna Arquette) to sell her house and move in with Jayne.

As Olivia prepares for her date, she asks her mother to babysit her son, Max (played by Jaxon Rose Moore), but her mother is preoccupied with trying to sell her furniture and objects online. Olivia becomes frustrated and overwhelmed with trying to balance her love life and motherhood responsibilities.

On her date with Spencer, Olivia initially finds him immature and arrogant, but as they dance together, she begins to have fun and enjoy his company. However, when he invites her to a party with his younger friends, Olivia feels out of place and uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, Jayne visits their mother's house and speaks with her about moving in together. Their mother expresses hesitation and reluctance, causing Jayne to become upset and argumentative.

Back at the party, Olivia becomes upset when Spencer's friends make fun of her for being a mom and "old." She leaves and calls her sister for advice, but Jayne is too caught up in her own drama to be much help. Olivia ends up taking a cab home and has a heart-to-heart conversation with her mother about the challenges of dating as a single mom.

The episode ultimately ends with Olivia deciding to give Spencer another chance, while Jayne grapples with her own feelings about her mother's future.
