Ep 3. Chapter Eleven: The Pumpkin Path

Chapter Eleven: The Pumpkin Patch is the third episode of the second season of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. This episode picks up where the previous one left off, with Will still having disturbing visions of The Upside Down and the Shadow Monster despite being released from the hospital.

The episode primarily focuses on the aftermath of Will's vision of the giant spider-like creature, which prompts Joyce and Hopper to seek the help of the local farmer to track down the source of the rot that seems to be spreading through Hawkins. Meanwhile, we see the boys (Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Max) doing some investigating of their own, using their knowledge of Dungeon and Dragons to try to understand the mind of the Shadow Monster and figure out how to defeat it.

Elsewhere, the relationship between Nancy and Jonathan takes a back seat as they team up with Murray Bauman, a conspiracy theorist and journalist, to try to uncover and leak the truth about Hawkins Lab. This leads them on a journey from the lab to a Halloween party, where things take an unexpected turn.

As for Eleven, who was noticeably absent from the previous episode, she spends most of the time with Hopper, who is doing his best to keep her hidden from the rest of the town. However, when Eleven discovers a newspaper article about her mother, she decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out to find her mother's location.

As usual, there are plenty of nods to 80s pop culture throughout the episode, with references to Ghostbusters, Goonies and more. The Pumpkin Patch is a great continuation of what is shaping up to be another thrilling season of Stranger Things. With memorable performances from all the cast, excellent writing, and stunning visuals, Stranger Things season 2 continues to impress and satisfy.
