In Sugar Rush Season 3 Episode 4, named Blackout, the contestants face a new challenge to create flavorful and visually appealing desserts without the use of electricity. With all electricity turned off, the contestants must work with traditional means of cooking and baking.

Finally, the fourth team, brother and sister duo Ian and Natalie, opts for a matcha and green tea cake for their first dessert. They use a hand-held whisk to create the batter and then bake it in a wood-fired oven. For their showpiece, they decide to create a sugar dragonfly in flight, surrounded by sugar flowers.

As the clock ticks down, the contestants frantically work on their desserts, with the judges keeping a close eye on their progress. Disasters strike the contestants in the form of cake collapses, accidents with burners, and sugar sculptures falling apart. But the teams all manage to pull it together to deliver impressive desserts for judging.
