The Prince is a new animated comedy series that follows the life of Prince George, the youngest member of the British Royal Family. Voiced by Gary Janetti, the show depicts the young prince as a sassy royal who is unapologetic about his opinions and is often seen making fun of his family and their traditions.
In the first episode of season 1, titled Unfollow, Prince George is excited to announce his new Instagram account to the world. He is thrilled as he plans to use the platform to share his unfiltered opinions and give a behind-the-scenes look at royal life, which he thinks is boring and outdated.
However, things don't go exactly as planned. His first post, which is a picture of his little sister Princess Charlotte with the caption "I can't with this girl, #annoying #ugh" quickly goes viral and draws backlash from around the world. The royal family is not amused with his crude comments and soon, his Instagram account is shut down. This sends Prince George into a frenzy as he refuses to accept the fact that he must conform to the strict rules of the royal family's public image.
Meanwhile, his father, Prince William, and his mother, Kate, struggle to keep a balance between their professional duties and the antics of their young children. Prince George's witty commentary and sarcasm often put them in awkward situations, and they are certainly not amused by his social media mishap.
The episode also introduces the show's other main characters, including Meghan Markle, who is portrayed as a self-absorbed Hollywood actress who is constantly trying to take over the royal family's traditions. Her husband, Prince Harry, is depicted as an aloof and clueless member of the family who tries to appease everyone but his wife.
Overall, Unfollow sets the tone for the series, establishing Prince George as a character who is unapologetically himself and will stop at nothing to make fun of those around him, even if it means getting into trouble with his family. It also introduces a host of secondary characters who will no doubt provide comedic relief throughout the rest of the season.
