As the police prepare for their final assault on the favela, Playboy's crew learn of the fugitives' whereabouts. While Playboy's gang attempt to draw Carlinhos out of hiding by using his girlfriend - gang member Senegal's own sister - as bait, the four men gradually realise they have their own bargaining chip to work with: Mariana, the mother of Playboy's only son.

Unable to escape the favela, the four men hole up in the pizzeria of another undercover operative, Doca. As the police mount a military-assisted raid on the slum, Doca's cleaner, Mariana, unwittingly stumbles across the fugitives when she comes into the pizzeria for her wages. Afraid that she might give away their cover, the cops decide to hold her captive.

When a police informant accidentally drops a rucksack containing information on the identities of four undercover policemen - Samuel, Danilo, Carlinhos and Branco - operating in Vila Cruzeiro, one of Rio de Janeiro's most dangerous favelas, the slum's ruthless crime lord, Playboy, shuts down the streets and orders his gang to hunt the traitors down.
