Ep 5. Episode 5

In Episode 5 of season 1 of The Rain, the audience is taken deeper into the story's world. The first scene opens with Simone's flashbacks of a time when her family was still together. Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Martin and Patrick are looking for medicine for Rasmus. They stumble upon a hospital, and as they enter, they realize it's not abandoned. They encounter a group of survivors who are heavily armed and initially hostile. After some convincing, they convince them to share their medicine, but the transaction is far from peaceful.

Back in the hotel room, Simone is struggling to deal with her past. She takes a moment to confide in Jean, who tells her that it's okay to feel the way she does. Meanwhile, Rasmus is having a nightmare where he sees his mother dying in front of him. The nightmare is strong enough to wake him up, and he finds himself drawn to a strange room where he discovers some intriguing clues about his past.

As the episode nears its end, the group distributed the medicine that they got from the hospital. Simone confronts her ex-boyfriend, who she discovered was not as decent a person as she remembered him to be. Rasmus is still sick, but his condition seems to have stabilized a little. And the scientist is getting closer and closer to finding them.

The episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving the audience with many questions about the story's origins, Rasmus' past, and what lies ahead for the group.
