The show follows the adventures of a group of friends who all happen to be trucks. The main characters are Jack, Dump Truck Dan, Max, Big Rig, and Spark Plug. Jack is the leader of the group and is always eager to help his friends. Dump Truck Dan is the largest of the group and is always up for a challenge. Max is the smallest but is also the fastest. Big Rig is the oldest and the wisest of the group. And Spark Plug is the newest member who is eager to learn and explore.

The show is set in Trucktown, a bustling town filled with all kinds of trucks. The trucks are all different shapes and sizes and have different personalities as well. Each episode of the show focuses on a different adventure that the trucks embark on. Some of the adventures include exploring a construction site, helping a stranded truck, or competing in a race.
