In episode 11 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 1, titled "Kimmy Rides a Bike!", we see Kimmy try her hand at something new - riding a bike! She's never ridden one before, having spent most of her life trapped in a bunker, so it's a new and exciting experience for her. As she's out riding around, she comes across an old friend from the bunker, Donna Maria, who's selling knockoff handbags out of her van.
Donna Maria convinces Kimmy to help her sell the bags, and Kimmy agrees, thinking that it'll be a fun way to spend the day and make some money. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when the police show up and arrest them both for selling counterfeit goods. Kimmy insists that she didn't know the bags were fake, but Donna Maria tells her that everyone knows they're fake and that they're not hurting anyone by selling them.
It turns out that the bags were made by a group of nuns who have been forced to resort to this kind of illegal entrepreneurship in order to make ends meet. Kimmy feels bad for the nuns and decides that she wants to help them out. She gets her roommate, Titus, to pretend to be a buyer for a high-end department store, hoping that they can convince the nuns to go legit and start making real, high-quality bags.
It's an uphill battle, but Kimmy eventually persuades the nuns to give it a try. They start making real leather bags and, to everyone's surprise, they become a huge success. The department store loves them, and Kimmy feels proud that she was able to help make a difference in their lives.
Meanwhile, back at Kimmy's apartment building, her landlord, Lillian, is dealing with her own crisis. The building is being threatened with demolition, and Lillian is doing everything she can to stop it. She stages a protest outside the building, and even gets the local news to cover it, but it seems like it's a lost cause. That is, until the developer who wants to tear down the building shows up and starts flirting with Lillian.
Lillian hates him at first, but she soon starts to see him in a different light. They have a lot in common, and he seems genuinely interested in her and in the building's history. Eventually, Lillian decides to give him a chance, and they start dating. However, things get complicated when Lillian realizes that the developer is the same guy who's trying to tear down her building.
Overall, "Kimmy Rides a Bike!" is a fun and engaging episode that shows us more of Kimmy's character and her desire to help others. It's a great example of how she uses her unique perspective to see the good in everyone, even those who are breaking the law. And, as always, there are plenty of laughs along the way, making this a must-watch for fans of the show.
