That is, until the developer who wants to tear down the building shows up and starts flirting with Lillian.

Lillian hates him at first, but she soon starts to see him in a different light. They have a lot in common, and he seems genuinely interested in her and in the building's history. Eventually, Lillian decides to give him a chance, and they start dating. However, things get complicated when Lillian realizes that the developer is the same guy who's trying to tear down her building.
