Very Scary People is a true crime series that explores the twisted minds and heinous crimes committed by some of the most notorious criminals in history. In the seventh episode of season one, entitled "Aileen Wuornos: Monster Made, Part 1," viewers are introduced to one of America's most infamous female serial killers and the grim circumstances that shaped her into the cold-blooded murderer she became.

Wuornos' life was marked by tragedy from an early age. Born in 1956 in Michigan, she never knew her father and her mother abandoned her and her brother when they were young. Wuornos was subsequently sent to live with her grandparents, where she was subjected to physical and sexual abuse by her grandfather. By the age of 14, she became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy, which she then gave up for adoption.

As a young adult, Wuornos drifted from place to place, living on the streets and resorting to prostitution to support herself. She had numerous run-ins with the law, with charges ranging from disorderly conduct to assault and battery. In 1986, she met and fell in love with a woman named Tyria Moore, and the two began a tumultuous relationship that would have tragic consequences.

Between 1989 and 1990, Wuornos went on a killing spree that left at least seven men dead. She would lure her victims into secluded areas, often posing as a hitchhiker, before shooting them with a .22 caliber handgun. Wuornos later claimed that all of her victims had either raped or attempted to rape her, but her story was met with skepticism by investigators who believed that she had killed for money.

As the body count rose, police launched a massive manhunt for the killer, and Wuornos became a nationwide sensation. In 1991, she was finally arrested in Florida and charged with multiple counts of murder. Despite her claims of self-defense, Wuornos was found guilty of six of the seven murders and sentenced to death.

In "Aileen Wuornos: Monster Made, Part 1," viewers are given a detailed look at the events leading up to Wuornos' killing spree. The episode features interviews with those who knew her best, including childhood friends and former clients, as well as law enforcement officials who investigated her crimes. Through these interviews, we gain insight into Wuornos' troubled past and the psychological trauma that may have driven her to commit such heinous acts.

The episode also explores the cultural impact of Wuornos' crimes, as her status as a female serial killer and a former prostitute made her a figure of fascination and revulsion in the media. We see how her story was sensationalized in the press and used as a cautionary tale about the dangers of sexual deviance and social decline.

Overall, "Aileen Wuornos: Monster Made, Part 1" is a gripping and disturbing depiction of one of America's most infamous killers. Through interviews and archival footage, viewers are given a glimpse into the mind of a deeply disturbed individual and the events that led to her descent into depravity. The episode sets the stage for the second part of the series, which will delve even further into Wuornos' life and crimes.
