As a new generation in the workforce, We are Millennials. Got a Problem? aims to tackle the unique challenges faced by Millennials in a humorous way. Season 1 Episode 1 titled "Episode 1" revolves around the struggles of a group of young professionals seeking employment.
The episode starts off with Izzie, a recent graduate and aspiring journalist, attending a job interview at a reputable publication. However, just as she thought she had nailed the interview, she continues to face the ever-elusive silence that seems to follow every application that she makes. Meanwhile, Mark, Izzie’s flatmate, is going through a different kind of struggle in the workplace as he gets constantly overlooked for promotions because he’s deemed as "too young."
Frustrated and defeated, Izzie and Mark take to the streets to seek solace and end up bumping into two of their other friends, Ed and Kobe. Ed, a social media manager, is dealing with the backlash from a tweet he made that had been misinterpreted, which was blown out of proportion by online trolls. Kobe, on the other hand, was unemployed and struggling to pay rent, leading him to the verge of homelessness.
Together, the four friends gather to discuss their problems and vent their frustrations, sharing their experiences of rejection and discrimination. They realize that they aren’t alone in their struggles and band together to try and find solutions for each other's problems. They decide to set up a support group, where they can meet on a regular basis and discuss their job searches and career aspirations.
The rest of the episode follows the friends as they navigate their way through their respective setbacks and obstacles. The group's humor and laughs are infectious, and Izzie comes up with a brilliant plan to help Ed get his job back after his online backlash. They all work together to help Kobe find a job, and Mark decides to approach his boss to address the discrimination he's been experiencing.
In the end, the group's support helps each of them to face their problems head-on, and they all feel more motivated and positive about their career prospects. Their newfound camaraderie and determination to overcome their obstacles will undoubtedly carry them into the rest of the season.
