In episode 4 of Work in Progress, titled "161, 153, 137, 122, 106, 104, 102 (We're Still Counting Almonds.)", Abby's therapy session takes a turn for the worse when her therapist suggests that she try to make amends with her estranged father. Back at home, Abby's roommate and best friend, Campbell, is dealing with her own issues as she navigates a long-distance relationship. As she becomes increasingly frustrated with her boyfriend's lack of communication, Campbell turns to Abby for support.

Throughout the episode, Abby's anxiety and depression are at an all-time high as she grapples with her past and her present. As she faces her fears and confronts her emotions head-on, viewers are left wondering what the future holds for Abby as she continues to work on herself and her relationships.
