The episode of WWE 205 Live season 5 that aired on Friday, July 17th, 2020 kicked off with a match pitting Cedric Alexander against Ariya Daivari. Both men put on an impressive display of athleticism, but it was Alexander who emerged victorious in this encounter with a devastating Lumbar Check.
Next up, Ever-Rise made their highly-anticipated 205 Live debut against Tony Nese and Jack Gallagher. Despite the fact that they were facing off against two seasoned veterans, Matt Martel and Chase Parker - collectively known as Ever-Rise - looked right at home in the squared circle. Nese and Gallagher put up a valiant effort, but in the end, it was Ever-Rise who picked up the win after Parker hit a quick roll-up on Gallagher.
The third match of the night was a singles battle between Oney Lorcan and Tehuti Miles. Miles was making his 205 Live debut here, and he put up a good fight against Lorcan. However, the veteran Lorcan was ultimately able to come out on top after hitting his opponent with a Half and Half Suplex followed by a Running Blockbuster.
The main event of the evening saw two 205 Live fan favorites, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott and Jake Atlas, clash in a highly-anticipated matchup. Both men pulled out all the stops in this thrilling encounter, with each competitor hitting a number of impressive maneuvers and high-flying spots. In the end, it was Swerve who was able to secure the victory, hitting Atlas with his signature JML Driver for the three-count.
Overall, this episode of WWE 205 Live was another great showcase for the Cruiserweight division, featuring some incredibly talented performers giving it their all in the ring. With exciting new talent like Ever-Rise debuting alongside established stars like Alexander and Lorcan, it's clear that the future of 205 Live is looking very bright indeed.
