Zero Punctuation is a fast-paced, comedic video game review show by British-Australian writer and comedian, Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. In season 8, episode 5 entitled Legacy, Yahtzee takes on two fairly recent games which he believes both rely heavily on their predecessors to sell themselves.

The first game on the chopping block is Titanfall 2, a first-person shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment. Yahtzee admits to seeing the appeal of the game, praising its mechanics and strong campaign mode. However, he feels that the game ultimately fails to stand out from its predecessor or bring anything new to the table. He explains that Titanfall is essentially "Call of Duty with mechs", but where Titanfall's mech combat was a novel and exciting feature, Titanfall 2 doesn't push it further. Additionally, while Titanfall 2 tries to sell itself on its narrative, Yahtzee regards this aspect of the game as the weakest part. He remarks that the plot feels like "a rejected script for a Saturday morning cartoon", relying too much on simplistic characters and predictable story beats. Overall, Yahtzee thinks Titanfall 2 is still a fun game, but it lacks the innovation and uniqueness that could have made it a standout title.

The second game Yahtzee reviews is Hitman, a stealth game developed by IO Interactive. Yahtzee starts off by discussing the popular misconception that the Hitman series is all about being an unfeeling killer. In reality, he explains, the game is more akin to a puzzle game, where players must utilize the variety of tools and disguises at their disposal to stealthily complete objectives. Yahtzee praises the areas in Hitman for being full of detail and variety, but criticizes the game for relying too much on players' knowledge and experience with the series. He explains that Hitman often expects players to already know how certain items or mechanics work, making it an unforgiving experience for newcomers. Despite this flaw, Yahtzee still regards Hitman as a fun and satisfying game for those already familiar with the series.

Overall, Legacy is another entertaining episode of Zero Punctuation that sees Yahtzee delivering his signature rapid-fire, no-holds-barred humor and critiques. Fans of the show will likely appreciate Yahtzee's blunt but fair assessments of Titanfall 2 and Hitman, while newcomers may find some valuable insight into these two games.
