In the 1980s Hell's Kitchen was a tough, gritty neighborhood where bad things happened to people. On Ash Wednesday Sean Sullivan, played by Elijah Wood, has supposedly been dead for three years after being killed by a rival gang. So when he reappears it could mean sparking old conflicts. All this moves threatens to start another war between the two factions, throwing the city back into chaos after a time of relative peace. Sean's wife, played by Rosario Dawson, thought she was a widow. She's moved on and must now leave with her husband and their son while the gangs move in to try and finish the job they thought was done years ago. Sean's older brother Francis (Edward Burns) is protected by one of the local Irish mob bosses. He must now play the role of protector himself and help his brother reunite his family and escape the danger of the neighborhood.
