In the year of 1959, a disturbed and frightened little girl, Lucinda was at school when her entire class was drawing pictures for their school's time capsule. However, Lucinda drew a strange system of numbers and was even scratched at the door of the school janitor. 50 years later, a man named John Koestler who is an astronomer and professor at MIT is visiting his son Caleb's school to see them open up this time capsule. Strangely, Caleb was the one who got Lucinda's system of weird numbers.
When John saw the numbers, he instantly realized that it wasn't just a bunch of numbers, but were some kind of code which predicted the exact moment of a disaster and how many would pass away from this specific calamity. After witnessing this plane crash at an International Airport, and even saving people from this unexpected New York Subway accident, he realizes that the very last disaster of the code is surprisingly the end of earth. Once the Sun's many solar flares has scorched the Earth, everything and everyone will be eliminated.
Meanwhile, Caleb has witnessed strange people that have been stalking him, those of which are a young girl Abby along with her mom Diana. Now, John, his son Caleb, Abby, and Diana will have to save as much people as possible from these solar flares while at the same time try to find out what's going on with those strange people.
The film's plot on itself is so unique as it actually shows people exactly why the world is going to end not just some random apocalyptic story. The story is very believable and will really make anyone frightened. It is a great movie to watch with friends and several adults, as it will really make you think and wonder what's exactly going on.
