In a 1950s small town, prejudice was often very openly admitted to. Whitey Black is a poverty-stricken boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Jerry Barlow’s family is wealthy and give him everything he wants. When they both get in trouble, they are forced into a paper route. Whitey’s sister longs for the Christmas gift of an angel doll which is not sold in their town. The boys and a group of quirky friends get creative to make her dream happen.
