This semi-documentary goes back to 1960, when the legendary marathoner from Ethiopia, Abebe Bikila, took the world by storm as a little known runner. Not only did he win the 1960 Olympic marathon in Rome, but he did so running in nothing but his shirt, shorts and bare-feet. Proving that the feat was not a fluke, he returned four years later in Tokyo, Japan to again win the Olympic marathon. By doing so, he became the first man in Olympic game history to win the marathon twice in consecutive games. The movie chronicles his life from training to the tragedies that encumbered his life after Tokyo.
