Ex-black ops office Cha Tae-sik is now leading a comfortable and quiet life running a pawn shop. Everything is quiet until, a little girl pawns a camera bag full of stolen drugs from an organized crime group. The little girl lives next door and her mother is the one who stole the drugs. After being tortured the crime group finds out where the drugs are and threaten to kidnap both the girl and her mother. They send some thugs to the pawn shop to get back what is rightfully theirs. However they are surprised to find out that Cha Tae-sik is not so easily overpowered. Only when he realizes that they have both the girl and the mother in their possession does he give the camera bag back.
Thinking they may get some use out of Tae-sik they tell him only if he delivers some goods for them will they let his friends go. Tae-sik cares for the little girl and decides to do the delivery but it ends up being a set up and he is arrested. When the police arrest him they also find a body in the trunk of the car he used, and the organs had been harvested.
The body ends up being the girl's mother and Tae-sik quickly realizes of the severity of the situation. He escapes the police station and hunts down where he thinks the girl may be being kept. There he is heartbroken when one of the leaders of the gang tells him that they had already killed her and harvested her organs.
In a fit of both rage and grief he kills everyone in the room and is about to commit suicide when the very small girl both dirty and scared appears. She tells him that she is only alive because of one thug member who took pity on her after she showed him kindness. Before Tae-sik is taken back into custody of the police, he buys the girl a backpack with school supplies and sadly tells her she will now be on her own.
