The Sixth Man is a 1997 comedy-drama film directed by Randall Miller and starring Marlon Wayans, Kadeem Hardison, and David Paymer. The story follows the two brothers Anton and Kenny Tyler, who play basketball for a college team. Anton is the star player, while Kenny is just a benchwarmer. However, when Anton suddenly dies during a game, Kenny starts seeing his ghost, who helps him become the team's new star player.

The movie opens with a voiceover from Kenny, who explains that they come from a family of basketball players, and that his older brother Anton was always the best. We then see them playing in college, with Anton being the star player and Kenny sitting on the bench. However, during a game, Anton suddenly collapses and dies on the court. The rest of the team is devastated, and Kenny is especially affected by the loss of his brother.

One night, Kenny is alone in the locker room, talking to Anton's poster on the wall, when he suddenly hears a voice. He turns around and sees Anton's ghost standing there. At first, Kenny is frightened, but Anton reassures him that he's there to help him. He tells Kenny that he needs to step up and become the team's new star player, which at first seems impossible given that Kenny has always been a mediocre player.

However, with Anton's help, Kenny starts improving rapidly. Anton becomes his coach and mentor, teaching him new moves and giving him advice on how to play better. Kenny's teammates are amazed by his sudden improvement, and he becomes the team's new star player. However, he keeps Anton's ghost a secret, afraid that no one will believe him or that he'll be thought of as crazy.

As the team starts winning more and more games, Kenny becomes famous on campus, and even gets a girlfriend, R.C., who works for the school newspaper. However, things start getting complicated when Kenny's teammates start suspecting that he's getting help from beyond the grave. Their suspicions are fueled by a rival player, Pooky, who is jealous of Kenny's success and starts spreading rumors that he's cheating.

To make matters worse, Kenny starts feeling guilty about keeping Anton's ghost a secret from his family and friends. He's torn between his loyalty to his brother and his desire to come clean. Meanwhile, Anton's ghost starts fading away, which means that Kenny will soon lose his basketball skills as well.

Without giving away too much of the plot, I can say that The Sixth Man is a heartwarming movie that explores themes of family, friendship, grief, and love. It's a mix of comedy and drama, with some supernatural elements thrown in. Marlon Wayans and Kadeem Hardison have great chemistry as the Tyler brothers, and their performances are both funny and touching. David Paymer is also great as the coach, who tries to help Kenny while also dealing with his own personal issues.

The basketball scenes are well-done and exciting, even if you're not a fan of the sport. The movie also has a great soundtrack, with songs by artists like Stevie Wonder, Rick James, and Salt-N-Pepa. Overall, The Sixth Man is a feel-good movie that will make you laugh and cry, and reminds you of the power of love and family.

The Sixth Man is a 2013 documentary with a runtime of 1 hour and 25 minutes.
