A Pair of Briefs is a 1962 British comedy. The story is about two barristers, or lawyers, in the British court system. One is a man named Tony Stevens and the other a woman named Francis Pilbright. They write briefs for mundane cases about sewers. They both jump at the opportunity to work on a juicier case about conjugal rights. Pilbright represents the woman in the case, and Stevens represents the man who denies who was married to the plaintiff. All of their marriage records were destroyed in bombing raids during World War II. The woman argues that her husband left her after a temporary case of memory loss.
