Pocketful of Miracles is a 1961 comedy with an all-star cast. The cast includes Bette Davis, Glen Ford, Peter Falk and a young Ann-Margret. Frank Capra directed the movie. It was Capra’s last movie. The story is about a superstitious gangster named Dave the Dude (Ford). One of his rituals is buying apples from a street peddler named Apple Annie (Davis). He thinks the apples bring him luck. Annie has a young daughter named Louis (Margret). Louis was raised in Europe and is under the assumption that her mother is a wealthy New Yorker. When Annie learns that Louise is coming to New York she asks Dave the Dude to help her pull off an elaborate charade to convince Louise that she is wealthy.
