Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold is a 1986 American adventure film directed by Gary Nelson and starring Richard Chamberlain as Allan Quatermain, the renowned adventurer and adventurer. The film was produced as a sequel to the 1985 movie, King Solomon's Mines. The movie begins with Quatermain, now a rich man living in England, being approached by his brother Robeson (Martin Rabbett) and his old flame Jesse Huston (Sharon Stone) to help them find out what happened to his late father's last voyage, which he had been chronicling in his journal. The last entry in the journal describes a city made of gold in the lost city of Kuma, and now Quatermain is tasked with finding it. The search for the city leads the trio on a perilous journey through dangerous territory in Africa, full of dangerous animals and hostile tribes.

Along the way, they meet a colourful cast of characters, including the African warrior Umslopogaas (Sipho Mabuse) and his band of warrior women, and the scheming German Colonel Bockner (Henry Silva), who are also on the hunt for the lost city. Meanwhile, the evil ruler of the lost city, Agon (Robert Donner), wants to prevent Quatermain and his friends from finding the city, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stop them.

The movie is a classic adventure movie, and it delivers all the fun and excitement of that genre. The scenery is breathtaking, and the action sequences are thrilling. Quatermain is a great hero, and Chamberlain plays him perfectly. He's smart, witty, and always ready for a fight. Stone is also fantastic as Jesse, and her chemistry with Chamberlain is great. James Earl Jones also does a great job as Umslopogaas, the fierce warrior.

The movie also does a good job of mixing action and humour, and it's a lot of fun to watch. There are plenty of laughs along the way, and the movie never takes itself too seriously. The plot is straightforward, but it's well-paced and keeps you engaged throughout.

The film's biggest weakness is its predictability. It follows the basic formula of most adventure movies, and there are no real surprises. Even so, the movie is still enjoyable, and it's a great way to spend an afternoon. The movie's score is also excellent, and it perfectly captures the mood and tone of the movie.

Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold is a fun adventure movie that delivers on all fronts. The cast is great, the action is thrilling, and the scenery is breathtaking. It's not the best adventure movie out there, but it's certainly one of the most enjoyable. If you're a fan of the genre, you'll definitely want to give this one a watch.
